Gen Alpha students in Bhatpurwa Samuhi, a village along the Yamuna, staged a peaceful protest outside their school, raising their voices over the long-pending construction of the school building. The students remained seated outside the school premises and refused to enter their classrooms, saying they would not leave until a concerned official came and assured them that a new school building would be provided.
The protest reflected growing frustration among students over the lack of progress on the school building. According to the information available, the matter had also been communicated to the concerned officials through online platforms. However, the students alleged that despite repeated efforts, no visible action had been taken on their demand.
School principal Priyanka Tiwari repeatedly urged the students to attend classes and return to the school. However, the children remained firm and continued their peaceful protest outside the premises. Visuals from the spot show a large number of students sitting together, with several holding the national flag during the demonstration.
The protest is another example of school children speaking up for basic educational infrastructure. Earlier, in Hamirpur, around 300 children had marched 6 km to the collectorate seeking a usable road to school, while in Lucknow, nearly 250 girls had protested over teacher shortages and basic amenities.
Student protests have also been reported from Unnao, where more than 200 students reportedly sat on the road and blocked the Mohan-Bangarmau route. While Gen-Z students in Delhi have been raising their voices through strikes, Gen Alpha students in Uttar Pradesh are increasingly taking their concerns directly to the streets.
