Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kohdya Dongar, Kunal Chandgude: Day Before Maharashtra Hill Horror, Mother’s Video On Relationship, Values’

New Delhi:

A day before her tragic death at a hill in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar along with her husband and teen son, Sangita Chandgude had posted a video on her YouTube channel on relationships and their values.

Sangita, her 48-year-old husband, Murlidhar Chandgude, and their 18-year-old son, Kunal, died after they fell in a 250-foot gorge from the Kohdya Dongar on Friday afternoon, allegedly after an argument over the EMIs for the son’s new phone.

On Thursday, Sangita had shared a self-recorded video on YouTube, saying there is “no point in doing anything for a person who does not value love”.

“Be ready to give your fate but to that person who values you, who values your love. If a person does not value you, does not value your love, or does not value what you do for them, then there is no point in doing anything for such a person,” she said in Marathi in a one-minute video.

Sangita, who was reportedly living separately from her husband after their elder son’s death due to an illness about six years ago, said a chapati “tastes good only when it gets cooked from both sides”.

“It is the same with relationships. If it is going on from both sides, if both are valuing it, then stay in such a relation. Otherwise, if one person is valuing it and the other is not, then such a relation has no meaning. It is always better to get out of such a relationship,” she said.

Sangita’s “Motivational” Videos On YouTube

Sangita, who had over 29,000 followers on YouTube, had posted multiple “motivational” videos on her channel. She also posted short vlogs that featured her son.

In another video, she had said that a man’s sisters “never try to understand” their sister-in-law these days.

“They never show love to her (sister-in-law’s) children, constantly abuse her, create misunderstandings in their brother’s family, and cause fights. They harass her; in a way, they try their best to break their brother’s family. And if they cannot break it, then they ask for a share in the property and take the property,” she said.

“They don’t support their brother in his sadness. They don’t try to understand the sister-in-law. Rather, when their brother’s son passes away from this world, at that time they abuse the sister-in-law and abuse the brother,” she said.

The Maharashtra Hill Tragedy

The tragic chain of events at Kohdya Dongar began around 10 am on Friday when Kunal trekked up the hill, allegedly after an argument over the EMIs for his new iPhone.

He had bought an iPhone and had been asking his family for money to pay the EMIs, according to the police.

His father was then alerted and rushed to the hill.

Anxious about Kunal’s safety, they also followed him, along with other locals, to the hilltop to convince him to return home.

After about three hours, Murlidhar climbed up to where Kunal stood and attempted to physically pull him back from the edge.

In the process, the two lost their balance and fell into a 250-foot gorge.

Witnessing her husband and son fall, heartbroken Sangita also jumped from the hill seconds later. All three died on the spot.

According to police sources, Kunal had come to the same spot last year with the intention of dying by suicide. At that time, the police had managed to counsel him and bring him down safely.
